Trump still stands by his threat to ban it - "unless Microsoft or somebody else is able to buy it" by September 15. Microsoft said that they are committed to acquiring the app and they would "ensure that all private data of American TikTok users is transfered to and remains in the United States".
If Microsoft or another American company fails to reach a deal to bring TikTok in the U.S. under local control, this will be the end of TikTok for American users, however, if you plan to move to another country, then continue having a go with the short video watermark app.
We are sure there are dedicated TikTok users who would be happy to leave their country to continue using the app if owning the app seems to be a bit of a problem for a company in the United States to handle.
We sure could use the help of producing more jobs for tech administrators, data server service employees for such an operation, although that can all be outsourced to China as long as they send the United States American data, and not use it.
