20 States Still Allow The Paddle (Corporal Punishment) In Schools

A video shows corporal punishment to a child in a school office. The video shows a Georgia school Principle beat the child with a paddle over the buttocks for missing 18 days of school while the kids mother was being arrested and jailed for allowing the truancy.


Another video in Florida comes out about a Principle paddling a 6-year-old student in front of her mother for causing $50 in damages to a school computer. Corporal punishment is still active in 20 states, and is banned in 30.  


States allowing corporal punishment in schools: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas.

If you plan on moving your family out of state, just know that putting your children in schools in these states can result in their punishment if they decide to act out of line, however, parents can sign a waiver if they don't want their children hit.
