Imagine being in an elevator minding your own business when 3 drunk individuals you have no idea are cops are rude, you say something, they get belligerent because they see you have a girlfriend, they are jealous, and want to pick a fight.
In this case it becomes an ego match. After the argument, one police officer decides to assault the guy in the elevator, and it becomes a full out brawl. Little did these off duty cops know was that this gentlemen has fighting skills.
They get more than what they bargain for. They all get beat up, piled up on top of each other, one police officer loses his service weapon their victim picks up, and the victim has to use it against another police officer who pulls his weapon out and draws it on him.
The victim of the police officer assault was not charged with a crime after shooting one officer in the thigh with another police officers service weapon due to self defense. This goes to show that police officers and citizens have the same rights.
